BS4142:2014+A1:2019 Assessment

We can carry out BS4142:2014 +A1:2019 assessment, in another term environmental noise impact assessment NIA, to determine the Rating Level of the plant/machinery you have installed or propose to install and write an acoustic report to discharge condition of planning application which usually state that "The Rating Level of the hereby permitted plant or machinery shall be at least 10dB below the prevailing background noise level. The measurement position, assessment and definitions shall be made according to BS4142:2014 + A1:2019 Methods for rating and assessing industrial and commercial sound".  The equipment shall be maintained thereafter to the satisfaction of the local planning authority, and the use hereby permitted must cease during any period that this condition is not complied with.

Sound Insulation in Residential Dwellings

We can provide advice at design stage, inspect the site for residential houses, hotels and any other accommodation

We can take measurements and write a  report to discharge condition of planning application which usually states that “The scheme shall achieve a minimum airborne sound insulation value of 43dB (DnTw + Ctr dB) for all floors. Following approval and implementation of the scheme, a test shall be undertaken to demonstrate that the attenuation measures carried out as part of the approved scheme are effective and achieve the specified criteria. All works, which form part of the approved scheme, shall be completed before the use commences”.

Or the condition of planning application to determine indoor noise levels may state that “Prior to the first occupation of the new development, the applicant shall ensure that the noise levels within the new residential units meets the criteria set out in Table 4 of BS8233 and a post-completion report shall be submitted to and approved by the Local Planning Authority”.
